Since 1977

Since 1977, I have written more than 300 000 kilometers of words, that is to say put end to end, one way trip from Earth to the Moon. Or a second to light for this trip. A second light words in 30 years, some 3 billion signs.

MASSIVES MEMOIRES #25

MASSIVES MEMOIRES#25

AEROFLOT :February 9, 1923, is considered the official birth date of Russian civil aviation, when the Labour and Defence Council issued a resolution entitled "On empowering the Central Air Fleet Administration to handle technical supervision over airlines and on founding the Civil Aviation Council.»
Following this resolution on March 17, 1923 open joint stock “DOBROLET” (The Russian Society for Voluntary Air Fleet) was established. The main goal of this commercial organization was to develop the civil aviation in the country for the needs of national economy. From exactly this day Aeroflot, as the successor of DOBOROLET, counts its history.

Angelica Dass: Here is a pretty meta project from Spanish artist Angelica Dass. Humanae assigns alphanumeric pantone colors to different hues of human skin. A straightforward conceit that raises questions about how we classify skin tones in our daily life. Here a menagerie of appearances are rated by numbers that are arbitrary in terms of ranking. The work also adds blush to the Bob Seger classic “Feel Like a Number.“

Moby Dick: Moby-Dick; or, The Whale (1851) is a novel by Herman Melville considered an outstanding work of Romanticism and the American Renaissance. Ishmael narrates the monomaniacal quest of Ahab, captain of the whaler Pequod, for revenge on Moby Dick, a white whale which on a previous voyage destroyed Ahab's ship and severed his leg at the knee. Although the novel was a commercial failure and out of print at the time of the author's death in 1891, its reputation as a Great American Novel grew during the twentieth century.

Bergen Belsen 1945: Each name is the whole world! In this volume they all come to you, the survivors of Buchenwald, the women survived in Bergen-Belsen, the inmates of Dachau, the refugees in Sweden, the Jews surviving in Theresienstadt, the remnants of the grand European Jewry... Through each individual story, you can learn about the Jewish People and their tragic history in the last century. One special survivor shone to me in bright light: Primo Levi, Torino, list nr. 32 "Jewish Survivors in Some Italian Cities - Milan - 32I", page 270, the survivor of Auschwitz, writer of the unforgettable book: "Se questo e un uomo". He is one name, one world, out of 61,697 names, 61,697 worlds, recorded in the Survivors Register...

Miles Dewey Davis III (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) was an American jazz musician, trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. Harlem 1940 :The Black Jews of Harlem are a minority ethnic group in New York who first appeared in the early 1900s. By 1930 there were at least four groups of Black Jews in Harlem. The most important of these groups was The Commandment Keepers Holy Church of the Living God. Commandment Keepers' founder, Rabbi Matthew, described the natural link between people of African descent and Judaism which he claimed extended from Abraham through King Solomon of Israel and Queen Sheba of Ethiopia who founded the line of kings who ruled Ethiopia. He affirmed that the “original” Jews were black people, or at least people of non-European descent who inhabited northeastern Africa and the Arabian peninsula. Yet, the Black Jews of Harlem were typically West Indian, East African, or South American in origin.

Lara ZAnkoul :In her series “The Unseen”, Lebanese photographer Lara Zankoul pushes the boundaries of photographic surrealism through her constructed life-size sets. Strictly through the use of her camera and with no digital manipulation, Zankoul creates dreamlike images where water is used to depict contrasting characteristics of the characters she photographs. Each image captures a different human emotion and the dueling perspectives that can exist. Zankoul invites the viewer to investigate each image and attempt to determine which half holds the element of truth.
