Since 1977

Since 1977, I have written more than 300 000 kilometers of words, that is to say put end to end, one way trip from Earth to the Moon. Or a second to light for this trip. A second light words in 30 years, some 3 billion signs.

THE FIRST EDITION ON LINE OF THE TARKUS CATALOGUE 16 mm Movies Collection

LES DERNIERS JOURS D ‘HERCULANUM. Extrait. 16mm.
Italy. 1962. Gian Franco Paolini.Technicolor.

MOSQUITO. 16mm. USA. 1950. Black And White.
Encyclopedia Britannica.
Mosquito (from the Spanish meaning little fly  is a common insect in the family Culicidae (from the Latin culex meaning midge or gnat). Mosquitoes resemble crane flies (family Tipulidae) and chironomid flies (family Chironomidae), with which they are sometimes confused by the casual observer.
Mosquitoes go through four stages in their life cycle: egg, larva, pupa, and adult or imago. Adult females lay their eggs in water, which can be a salt-marsh, a lake, a puddle, a natural reservoir on a plant, or an artificial water container such as a plastic bucket. The first three stages are aquatic and last 5–14 days, depending on the species and the ambient temperature; eggs hatch to become larvae, then pupae. The adult mosquito emerges from the pupa as it floats at the water surface. Adults live for 4–8 weeks.
Mosquitoes have mouthparts which are adapted for piercing the skin of plants and animals. While males typically feed on nectar and plant juices, the female needs to obtain nutrients from a "blood meal" before she can produce eggs.
There are about 3,500 species of mosquitoes found throughout the world. In some species of mosquito, the females feed on humans, and are therefore vectors for a number of infectious diseases affecting millions of people per year.

ADVENTURES OF A CHIPMUNK FAMILY.16mm.USA. 1950. Black and white.
Encyclopedia  Britannica
Chipmunks are small squirrel-like rodents of the genus Tamias. They are native to North America and Asia. Tamias is Greek for "storer," a reference to the animals' habit of collecting and storing food for winter use. The genus includes twenty-five recognized species, with one species, T. sibiricus, in northeastern Asia, one, T. striatus, in eastern North America, and the rest native to western North America.
Some authors have recently suggested that Tamias should be subdivided into three genera, corresponding to currently recognized subgenera Tamias, Eutamias, and Neotamias. This usage, however, has not been widely adopted.

Short film is a technical description originally coined in the North American film industry in the early period of cinema. The description is now used almost interchangeably with short subject. Either term is often abbreviated to short (as a noun, e.g., "a short"). A trailer for a feature length film is sometimes mistakenly referred to as a "short" for the complete film.
Although the North American definition generally refers to films between 20 and 40 minutes, the definition refers to much shorter films in Europe, Latin America and Australasia. In New Zealand, for instance, the description can be used to describe any film that has a duration longer than one minute and shorter than 15 minutes. The North American definition also tends to focus much more on character whereas the European and Australasian forms tend to depend much more on visual drama and plot twists. In this way, the North American form can be understood to be a derivation of the feature film form, usually acting as a platform for aspirant directors. Elsewhere, short films tend to work as showcases for cinematographers and commercial directors.

Naïve description of the new state.
Israel fought a war in 1948 for their independence but the Arab states never accepted Israel's right to exist; instead they maintained a constant state of belligerency towards the new, yet mighty state of Israel., Israel had to defeat armies that were trained and supervised by the British during the war of independence to win their right to an independent country. In spite of the fact that the mighty British Empire had given their support to the Arabs, they had been defeated. This played an important role in the ability to gain release of the Jews of Yemen.

LA VALSE BRILLANTE DE CHOPIN. France 1936. Black and White. 6 minutes.

Director; Max Ophuls. Writer:Emile  Vuillermoz.

Alexandre Brailovsky, play La valse brillante ( en La Bemole.) de Frederic Chopin. Ophuls was able to record this performance from above, below, from left and right, from in front and in back. The film is edited to the beat of the music, and it is never boring. Brailovsky (1896-1976) is performing on a platform on top of another platform on top of another platform... and at one point the camera jumps from platform to platform as the music rises in tone.

I wonder how many times Brailovsky had to perform the piece in order to get the effects that I watched! There seemed to be only one camera... And unlike Ophuls film of Ave Maria, there are no slow spots. This is film-making at its best and most delirious. The movie actually makes the music more interesting.
